A FOAF has brewed a batch of 'Green Dragon,' an infusion of a
certain herb in 190 proof alcohol.

It was boiled slightly, then allowed to sit for a few days before

The taste was not great, but it was *quite* effective. The
alcohol gives a strong initial buzz, and after a while...

Anyway, the stuff sat in a dark closet untouched for a few
months, and some white strings started appearing, floating near the

He filtered them out, and retested. It was just as effective,
but it tasted worse (he thinks).

Anyway, they have come back. Having left it alone for a number
of months again, these things seem stable - they haven't taken over the
entire (.375 liter) bottle, but they are floating around in the bottom

Is this some kind of mold that can live in high proof alcohol???

Is there a health risk associated with drinking this (apart
from the alcohol? :-))

P.S. Here's a nice recipe:

'Happy Trails' Mix

Dried herbs - amount to taste - perhaps 1/8 - 1/4 oz.

Butter (or other oil) - 3 - 4 tbsp. or more (Hey, live a little)

Dried nuts (cashews are great - almonds, pecans, etc) - some salted

Dried fruit (harder/smaller types, like papaya, raisins, pineapple, etc.)

banana chips

above ingred - perhaps 1/4 - 1/2 lb.

Grind herbs finely - try using a small electric coffee grinder.

Saute in oil at *very* low heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly
- enjoy the aroma ;-)

Add rest of ingredients slowly, until all oil is absorbed.

allow to cool, and enjoy!!

expect an hour or more to experience full effects...
